The outdoor environment is divided by age group, with dedicated play areas, spaces for motor activities, and sensory paths that stimulate physical and cognitive development. Thanks to the presence of a vegetable garden, orchard, small animals, and themed zones, our students enjoy daily educational experiences in direct contact with the earth. Each season brings new discoveries, making learning dynamic and closely connected to the natural rhythms.

These environments are organized to stimulate collaboration, curiosity and experimentation, and are also used for small group activities, moments of mindfulness, emotional awareness exercises and individualized paths. At Benedetto XV International School, the Farm and Educational Garden are not just green spaces, but real open-air classrooms. Here, children discover how plants grow, what nature’s cycles are, and how animals are fed and cared for.
We believe that multisensory learning is essential: the smells, sounds, shapes, and colors of the natural environment stimulate both mind and body, fostering well-rounded and harmonious development.
Through activities like planting, caring, harvesting, and composting, children develop manual skills, patience, and a deep respect for food and nature.
On the farm, interaction with animals such as chickens, rabbits, goats, and-at times even dogs or horses, strengthens self-esteem, empathy, and emotional expression. Direct experience with the environment creates a deep connection with the world around them, making children active participants in an educational journey that doesn’t end with the school bell.
