A comprehensive educational journey for harmonious growth.
At Benedetto XV International School, the Primary School welcomes students aged 6 to 11 in a dynamic bilingual environment. Our curriculum integrates the British National Curriculum with the guidelines of the Italian Ministry of Education (MIM), ensuring a thorough and versatile preparation suitable for continuing studies both in Italy and abroad.
THE SUBJECTS IN OUR CURRICULUM
Italian Language
The teaching of Italian follows the guidelines of the Ministry of Education (MIM), with sufficient hours allocated to achieve all the expected objectives. The approach is communicative, inclusive, and focused on comprehension, expression, and written production.
Mathematics
Mathematics is taught in both languages, aiming to develop solid logical-mathematical thinking applicable in various contexts. Bilingual numeracy helps students reason with flexibility and precision.
Science
Science is at the heart of experiential learning. In the laboratory, children explore natural phenomena through observation, experimentation, and reflection, actively learning the scientific method.
STEM & Computer Science, Coding, and Robotics
The STEM approach (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) is integrated into our educational model to promote critical thinking, logic, and creative problem-solving. Activities in science and technology labs encourage practical, collaborative, and interdisciplinary learning. Coding and robotics are introduced from the early years and progressively enhanced throughout the program, preparing students to interact intelligently with the digital world.
History
History is taught exclusively in English and represents one of the key areas where our international vision fully expresses itself. The program integrates content from the Oxford International Curriculum, focused on developing historical thinking and understanding global processes, with the guidelines set by the Italian Ministry of Education. Children learn to compare cultures, analyze events, and understand causes and consequences through an active and narrative approach.
Geography
Geography is taught in Italian to ensure the achievement of specific MIM objectives related to territory, cartography, and understanding the physical and human environment. The study is enriched with interactive activities and interdisciplinary projects that stimulate curiosity about the world and its dynamics.
Art and Music
Artistic and musical education allows children to express emotions, imagination, and creativity through alternative and complementary languages to verbal communication.
Physical Education and Sports
Physical activity is an integral part of the child’s well-being and overall development. Each week, students participate in two physical education lessons: one with the school’s internal teachers and one led by qualified external instructors from local sports organizations. Every year, three sports disciplines are selected and taught in a structured and ongoing way. This allows students to try various activities—from tennis to fencing, dance to soccer—discovering passions and talents in an educational and inclusive context. Our goal is to develop not only motor skills but also fundamental values such as respect for rules, cooperation, perseverance, and fair play.
Wellbeing
An essential part of the Oxford International Curriculum, Wellbeing is a structured subject that helps children take care of their emotional, mental, and relational balance. Through guided activities, they learn to recognize emotions, develop empathy, face challenges, and build healthy relationships. A true pillar for raising calm, resilient, and self-aware students.
